Rongali Bihu Photo Tour
at Rang Ghar, Sivasagar

Overview

Experience an exciting journey through the forests of Kaziranga National Park. Renowned worldwide for the Great one-horned rhinoceros, Kaziranga is also a World Heritage Site. Kaziranga also has the highest density of Royal Bengal Tigers among the protected areas of the world. This wildlife tour will take you through the wild trails of the National Park where you get the opportunity to watch the swamp deer and wild water buffaloes from close range. Excellent sighting of a wide variety of birds, both local and migratory make this National Park a chosen destination for bird lovers. Get the chance to capture the wide range of birds and animals through your lens and take back with you a lifetime of wild memories.

A Cultural Tour to Sivasagar, the historical town in Upper Assam, will take you back in time to the days of the Great Ahom kings. Dotted with historical relics like the Rang Ghar, Kareng Ghar, Talatal Ghar, Temples like Shiva Dole, Joy Dole, Devi Dole and exquisite man-made water tanks like Joy Sagar, this photographically rich tour through the town of monuments will deepen your experience in a cultural context and offer you the chance to shoot away to your heart’s delight. You can even match steps with the much-loved traditional Bihu dance as you get the chance to witness the spectacular dances presented by the local tribes at the wide open grounds of Rang ghar, the amphitheater of the Ahom kings 6 centuries ago. Catch the rhythm of drums as you avail of the opportunity click every move of traditional dancers in their bright Red and Muga Mekhela Chadors.

Landscaped of Spring Festival – RONGALI BIHU.

at KAZIRANGARONG GHOR & DISANGMUKH

from 12 April 2019 to 18 April 2019

Day 1            12/04/2017         Arrive Guwahati by noon, Pick-up and check into hotel; Freshen up and have lunch at the Hotel. Start for a late afternoon Sunset Cruise to the middle of the Mighty Brahmaputra and return to the riverbank after viewing the Sunset or watching the Monsoon rains as per the local weather conditions.  Interact with all the Guest Photographers over High Tea followed by a short briefing about Tour details while waiting in ship for the Dinner Cruise. Thereafter, start off for the river Cruise a second time for night Photography of the majestic Brahmaputra River and the night-cityscape views of Guwahati as seen from mid-river. Have Buffet Dinner over Live music and folk dance during the Dinner Cruise. Return to Hotel post Dinner Cruise and stay the night in Guwahati.

Day 2            13/04/2017         Start for Kaziranga National Park at 6.30 am. Stop for Breakfast on route. Arrive Kaziranga around 1.00 pm and check into Hotel. Freshen-up followed by Lunch at the Hotel.  Thereafter, proceed for Jeep Safari into Kaziranga National Park at 2.30 pm. Return to the Hotel at about 4.00 pm and rest for the afternoon. Evening tea at 5.00 pm followed by visit to the Orchid Garden. Explore the Orchid varieties and photo-shoot at the orchid park. Spend the entire evening there by enjoying a short traditional Music show followed by traditional Assamese Dinner. Return To Hotel and stay the night at Kaziranga.

Day 3            14/04/2017         Early morning Elephant Safari Ride through the grasslands of Kaziranga for maximum sighting of animals. Return to Hotel, have breakfast and checkout. Thereafter, start off for Sivasagar. En route, stop-over at Dolaguri Tea Estate, visit the 100 years old British-era Bungalow and the Tea-processing Factory for a first-hand experience of tea-making process. Excellent opportunity for tea-garden photography. Thereafter, again proceed for the onward journey and stop at Jorhat for lunch at the Rajputana Lodge Inn. Post-lunch, further proceed towards Sivasagar and arrive in the late evening. Check into hotel, freshen-up and take a night-tour the historical town. Ample scope for night photography of the monuments. Dinner at the hotel and stay overnight at Sivasagar.

Day 4            15/04/2017         Breakfast at hotel at 7.00 am. Then proceed to Rang Ghar for the main Photography session. Witness the colorful and vibrant traditional Bihu dance of Assam in all its varieties and grandeur, that too, in it’s very own birthplace – the landscaped grounds of Rang Ghar. Experience the spectacular festival of Bihu as well as grab the chance to capture through your lens, the traditional attires of the different tribes performing in the event. Thereafter, proceed to visit the historical monuments around the town. Excellent opportunity to do architectural photography in the soft post-noon sunlight. Also visit the largest man-made water tanks Joy Sagar and Rudra Sagar and the temples that dot the town. Stay overnight in Sivasagar.

Day 5             16/04/2017      Breakfast at hotel at 7.00 am. Then proceed to Disangmukh. Arrive at Disangmukh for briefly in below :

Disang river is a tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra. Disangmukh is mouth of this tributary. With a very scenic beauty of the river Brahmaputra and Disang joining together the place. Is also an ultimate destination for tourists to have a close look to Mising Tribes of Assam for there living style.

Disangmukh is one of the popular tourism sites of this kind.

Disang river has it’s own importance site the historical days. It is important medium of transportation in the Ahom days. This river was supposed to be one of the border of Ahom’s Capital “Rongpur”. During the British rule, Disangmukh serve redas a very important port for any transportation from Sivasagar to other places.

Around Disangmukh there are mostly villages of Mising tribs. The rich and colourful traditions of the Mising tribes can still be observed around Disangmukh. If you want to have a close looks to the lives of Fisherman in Assam, this one of the very suitable place.

Evening After finished photo shoot in Mising village culture at Disnagmukh back to Sivasager at the hotel and stay overnight at Sivasagar

Day 6            17/04/2017         Breakfast at the Hotel and check-out. Visit the Shiva Dole temple. Thereafter, start off for Guwahati at 9.00 pm. En route; take off-roads and stopovers at different places for nature and landscape photography of the beautiful spring season as the scenery becomes vibrant with the brightly colored Gulmohor, Radhasura, Sonaru and Ajar trees that line the highway and the expansive tea-gardens that are flush with fresh green shoots. Expected to reach Guwahati by 6.30 pm. Check into Hotel. Final interaction among all guest photographers and exchange of experiences before retiring for the night.

Day 7            18/04/2017         Breakfast at hotel and checkout. Transfer to Airport for onwards journey.
