Guwahati – Manas National Park – Guwahati

Duration: 4 Days / 3 Nights

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati

Welcome to Assam! Upon your arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, you will be warmly greeted by a representative from Sarothi Tourism and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Guwahati, often referred to as the Gateway to Northeast India, is a vibrant and rapidly developing city nestled on the southern banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River and surrounded by verdant hills. The city blends spirituality, culture, and natural charm.

Depending on your arrival time, you may explore some of the major attractions in Guwahati, including:

• Kamakhya Temple– A revered Shakti Peetha atop Nilachal Hill
• Navagraha Temple– The temple of nine celestial bodies
• Basistha Ashram– A serene retreat linked to Sage Basistha
• Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra– Assam’s cultural heritage center
• Assam State Zoo & Botanical Garden(Closed on Fridays)
• Assam State Museum(Closed on Mondays)
• War Memorial– Honoring India’s brave martyrs
• Digholi Pukhuri Park– A historic lake ideal for a relaxing evening boat ride

In the evening, enjoy a sunset river cruise on the Brahmaputra (subject to weather conditions).

Day 2: Guwahati – Manas National Park

After an early breakfast, begin your scenic drive to the Manas National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (approx. 140 km / 5 hours with breaks). En route, stop at Kamakhya Temple for darshan and enjoy panoramic views of Guwahati city from Nilachal Hill.

Situated at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, Manas National Park is renowned for its rich biodiversity. It is home to:

• The rare one-horned rhinoceros
• Wild water buffalo, swamp deer, hog deer, elephants, and many endangered bird species

On arrival, check into your resort or eco-lodge. After some rest, visit the surrounding tea gardens and a charming tea bungalow, where you can learn about the tea-making process and sip freshly brewed Assam tea.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional tribal dance performance (Jhumur) – available on request – for a glimpse into the region’s vibrant culture.

Day 3: Explore Manas National Park

Start your day with an early morning elephant safari, a thrilling way to observe wildlife up close in their natural habitat.

After breakfast, you may:

• Explore nearby tea estates, or
• Enjoy a tranquil boating experience(subject to availability), where animals and birds often gather at the riverside in the early morning—a breathtaking experience for nature lovers and wildlife photographers.

After lunch, head out for an exciting jeep safari through the core areas of the park, offering opportunities to witness the rich flora and fauna of Manas up close.

Day 4: Manas – Guwahati – Departure

After breakfast, check out from your resort and begin your journey back to Guwahati. You will be dropped off at the airport or railway station as per your departure schedule.
