Guwahati – Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Krang Suri – Guwahati

Day-wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati

Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station, you will be received by our representative. Check in to your hotel and freshen up.

About Guwahati:

Guwahati is the gateway to Northeast India and one of the fastest-growing cities in the region. Located on the southern bank of the mighty Brahmaputra River and surrounded by rolling hills, the city offers a blend of natural beauty, spiritual sites, and cultural attractions.

Places to visit (time permitting):

• Kamakhya Temple
• Nabagraha Temple
• Basistha Ashram
• Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden(Closed on Fridays)
• Assam State Museum(Closed on Mondays)
• Sankardev Kalakshetra– cultural and heritage hub
• War Memorial
• Digholi Pukhuri Park– enjoy boating in the evening (optional)

In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River (subject to weather conditions).

Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 2: Guwahati – Shillong

After breakfast, drive to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. En route, stop at the scenic Umiam Lake (Barapani) – a picturesque man-made reservoir surrounded by pine-covered hills.

Known as the “Scotland of the East”, Shillong boasts a charming climate and beautiful landscapes.

Check in to your hotel and spend the evening exploring nearby local markets.

Day 3: Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong

After breakfast, take a scenic drive to Cherrapunjee (Sohra) via Dawki. Located on the southern edge of the Khasi Hills, Cherrapunjee is famed for its abundant rainfall and stunning natural wonders.

Places to visit:

• Seven Sisters Falls
• Nohkalikai Falls
• Living Root Bridges
• Mawsmai Cave
• Thangkharang Park
• Limestone formations

While returning to Shillong, visit:

• Shillong Peak– offers panoramic views of the city
• Elephant Falls

Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 4: Shillong – Krang Suri – Laitlum – Shillong

After an early breakfast, head toward Krang Suri Waterfalls – one of the most spectacular and serene waterfalls in Meghalaya, located near Jowai. Enjoy the crystal-clear blue waters and the peaceful surroundings.

On the return journey, visit the Laitlum Canyons, often referred to as the “End of the Hills”, offering breathtaking panoramic views of deep gorges and rolling hills.

If time permits, explore local limestone caves en route.

Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 5: Shillong – Guwahati

After breakfast, enjoy a half-day Shillong city tour, visiting:

• Lady Hydari Park
• Additional spots as per availability of time

Later, drive back to Guwahati. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel.

In the evening, visit Sankardev Kalakshetra, an open-air museum that showcases the art, culture, and heritage of Assam and other Northeastern states.

Optional: Explore local markets such as Fancy Bazaar, Paltan Bazaar, and Ganeshguri for shopping.

Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 6: Departure from Guwahati

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to the Airport / Railway Station. En route, visit the Kamakhya Temple (if not visited earlier).
